My new invention. A client wanted a surprise 4-ply bracelet for a 12-year-old’s birthday but was unable to measure the girl’s wrist. While the client shopped for a pendant/charm, I braided the long, lovely horse hair she’d provided but couldn’t bring myself to cut the braid down to a single wrap bracelet. After conferring, the client and I decided to attach end caps and a clasp to the cord, allowing the girl to use her imagination in wearing it: as a hatband, necklace (single or double wrap), multi-wrapped bracelet, bare ankle, or boot bracelet, a belt, etc. No matter how the birthday girl wore the braid, it would symbolize an umbilical cord connecting her heart to her equine’s.
